Bambolingua Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 21, 2026

Bambolingua is operated by Nuovo LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. This policy explains how we handle information when you use the Bambolingua mobile app, visit bambolingua.com, or contact us for support.

You can start learning without providing an email address or creating an account. We do not ask for an email during onboarding. Where email-based account recovery is available, you can choose to set it up through the app's Settings.

Information we handle

Learning information on your device. The app saves information such as your completed lessons, familiar words, practice results, review schedule, and preferences on your device. This lets the app remember your place and organize your learning. Reminder settings are also stored on your device. These local records are separate from the usage events described below.

Optional account information. If you choose to set up account recovery in Settings, we collect your email address and the information needed to verify it. After verification, we associate a saved copy of your learning progress and preferences with your account so you can request restoration later. We use your email for verification, account access, recovery, and necessary account communications. Providing an email for this purpose does not subscribe you to marketing messages.

Support information. When you email us or use our support form, we receive the contact details, message, and any other information you choose to provide. We use this information to respond and resolve your request. Please avoid including sensitive information that is not needed for support.

Technical information. Our servers and service providers process information needed to deliver the app, website, and learning media. This can include your IP address, request time, requested resource, and app, browser, or device information. We use relevant technical records to operate the service, find errors, prevent abuse, and maintain security.

Usage analytics. Where analytics is enabled, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use the app or website and to improve the experience. Analytics information can include page views, app interactions, lesson or practice activity, purchase events, session information, app and device characteristics, approximate location, and browser or app-installation identifiers. Approximate location is different from precise GPS location. We do not send your account email address, verification codes, or support-message content to Google Analytics.

Website analytics can use cookies or similar technologies to recognize a browser and measure visits. Where consent is required for nonessential analytics, we obtain it before enabling that collection.

Crash reports. Where crash reporting is enabled, we use Google's Firebase Crashlytics to understand and fix technical problems. Reports can include app and operating-system versions, device characteristics, the time and technical details of an error, and installation identifiers used to measure how many users are affected. We do not intentionally include account email addresses, verification codes, or support-message content in crash reports.

Purchase information. If you make an in-app purchase, Apple or Google handles the payment. We do not receive your full payment-card details. We may receive purchase confirmations, transaction identifiers, and subscription status to provide or restore paid access and handle purchase-related support. The store's own privacy policy also applies to information it handles.

How we use information

We use information to provide learning content, remember progress, organize practice and reminders, provide optional account recovery, respond to support requests, manage paid access where applicable, improve the app, and keep our services secure. We also use information where necessary to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.

Choosing optional account recovery is separate from agreeing to optional analytics or crash reporting. Where the law requires consent, we obtain it before collection. You can withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Service providers and disclosures

We use providers for hosting, media delivery, email delivery, analytics, crash reporting, and support. They receive the information needed for their services and are subject to appropriate contractual and data-protection requirements.

Google provides Google Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. Information about these services is available in Google's Privacy Policy, its information about partner apps and sites, and Firebase's privacy information.

Apple and Google process store purchases under their respective policies: Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, or where reasonably necessary to protect people, prevent fraud, or establish or defend legal rights.

Where information is processed

Our servers used to store account information are located in the United States. Information you choose to save to your account is stored there. Information kept only on your phone remains on your device, subject to your device's own backup settings.

Our service providers, including Google, may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. This means that some information may be processed outside your country of residence.

Contact us if you would like more information about where your information is processed and the protections that apply to it.

How long we keep information

We retain personal information for the purposes described in this policy, using the following criteria:

Your choices and rights

You can use the app without setting up email-based account recovery. You can manage reminder permissions through your phone's notification settings.

Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may request access to, correction, deletion, or a portable copy of your personal information, restrict processing, or withdraw consent. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests. These rights have legal limits and do not always apply to every record.

Contact us using the details below to make a request or ask how to change a privacy choice. We may need limited information to verify your request. We do not require you to create an account solely to contact us about privacy.

Where applicable law gives you a right to appeal a privacy-request decision, you can contact us to request an appeal. We will respond as required by that law and will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Information stored only on your phone may need to be removed on that device; we cannot remotely delete records that we do not hold. Deleting the app does not itself delete a separate server account or cancel a store subscription. Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate actions.

You may also have the right to complain to the privacy regulator responsible for your jurisdiction.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including access restrictions appropriate to the service. No storage or transmission method can guarantee complete security.

Children's information

Bambolingua is intended for people aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. Users under 18, or under the age of legal adulthood where they live, must have a parent or legal guardian's agreement to use the service, as explained in our Terms of Use.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take steps to promptly delete it and stop further collection from that child, subject to applicable legal requirements. Please contact us using the details below if you believe this has happened.

For older minors, we obtain parental consent for processing personal information where applicable law requires it. Permission to use the service does not replace any separate consent required for data collection.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or data practices change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice or request consent when required by law.
